Established as Nippon Silica Industries Corporation (Capital: 50 million yen)

Toyo Soda Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (now Tosoh Corporation) 25%, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. 25%, Hakusui Chemical Industries, Ltd. (now Hakusui Tech Co., Ltd.) 25%, Onoda Cement Co.,Ltd. (now Taiheiyo Cement Corporation) 25%

Started production and sales of precipitated silica under the Nipsil tradename

1961

Increased capital to 100 million yen

1963

Increased capital to 240 million yen

Started production and sales of high-purity chemical gypsum

Established Tosoh Namhae Silica Co.,Ltd., a joint-venture company, in Yeosu, Republic of Korea.
